Who We Are — Chi Siamo
Watt Calculator is an independent digital engineering initiative and educational resource developed by an international team of licensed professional engineers (PE), electrical engineering researchers, software architects, and STEM educators. We are united by a common conviction: mathematical rigor in electrical science should be accessible, instant, and completely transparent to everyone.
Our team brings together over 40 years of combined hands-on experience spanning industrial power distribution, commercial electrical contracting under National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, renewable solar-plus-storage engineering, and low-power embedded circuit design. We build tools that bridge the gap between abstract textbook formulas and real-world job-site application.
What We Do — Cosa Facciamo
At Watt Calculator, we research, engineer, calibrate, and freely publish high-precision computational tools for electrical power calculations, unit conversions, and circuit analysis. Our platform serves licensed electricians, power systems designers, electrical contractors, university researchers, and vocational students across 19 specialized calculators:
Deterministic 12-formula matrix solving Watts (P), Volts (V), Amps (I), and Ohms (R) with real-time algebraic step-by-step proofs.
3-Phase AC power solvers for Wye and Delta configurations, apparent power (kVA), reactive power (kVAR), and power factor correction.
Photovoltaic solar array sizing, battery capacity & runtime calculators (Watt-hours & Amp-hours), and Level 1/2/3 EV charging power solvers.
NEC 2026 wire gauge (AWG) ampacity tables, continuous load 125% derating rules, voltage drop estimations, and appliance power profiling.
All calculations are performed entirely client-side directly within your device's browser using 64-bit floating-point math. No inputs or electrical parameters are ever transmitted to remote servers, guaranteeing total data confidentiality, zero network latency, and instant results even when disconnected from the internet.
Our Story — La Nostra Storia
Watt Calculator was founded out of a shared frustration with the state of online technical tools. In late 2023, while teaching electrical engineering coursework and conducting field audits for industrial facilities, our founders noticed a recurring problem: existing online electrical calculators were either bloated with intrusive pop-up advertisements, hid their mathematical logic behind mysterious "black-box" buttons, suffered from floating-point rounding errors, or required invasive user registrations and constant internet connectivity.
In early 2024, we set out to build a modern alternative rooted in an uncompromising principle we call the Open Formula Mandate: every calculation must display its intermediate algebraic derivation in real time, normalize to base SI units, and execute 100% locally in the browser with zero tracking.
What started as a single, clean Watt-Volt-Amp-Ohm solver quickly resonated with apprentices, journeyman electricians, university professors, and robotics hobbyists worldwide. In 2025, we expanded the platform into a comprehensive suite of 19 specialized calculators—ranging from 3-Phase industrial AC and EV charger ratings to solar photovoltaic sizing and NEC 2026 wire ampacity tables—and completely localized the entire experience into 18 native languages.
Today, Watt Calculator serves hundreds of thousands of engineers, tradespeople, and students each month. We continue to operate as an independent, ad-respectful engineering utility committed to accuracy, privacy, and open STEM education.
Trasparenza Matematica: Formule Aperte
- Equazioni in forma chiusa: calcolo rigoroso senza deriva numerica.
Prefissi metrologici rigorosamente calibrati.
- Nessun Account Richiesto: Accesso immediato senza registrazioni, paywall o abbonamenti forzati.
- Zero Trasmissione Dati: Non registriamo né trasmettiamo mai le tensioni, correnti o parametri inseriti.
