How to Calculate Total Appliance Wattage
To calculate total appliance wattage, list every electrical device, multiply each device's power rating (watts) by its quantity, and add them all together: Total W = Σ(Wi × Qtyi). This gives the instantaneous power draw if all appliances run simultaneously.
For daily energy consumption, multiply each appliance's wattage by its hours of use: kWh = (W × hours) ÷ 1,000. A typical US household draws 3,000–8,000W of peak load across all circuits.

Circuit Breaker Sizing
